headband, long sleeves, white t90 boots.. the game was over before it even started.

fernando torres is the progenitor of early 2000's football style and tek. i mean seriously the guy was cool as fuck, even when he started getting older and a little washed. he had scousers singing chants in spanish, and the gerrard/torres linkup was generational. one of england's best midfielders, if not THE BEST english midfielder of all time plus spain's most prominent and clinical homegrown talent for his time.

you can easily align what gary neville said about ronaldo with torres (pre-chelsea). he can score with his left foot, right foot, he can score penalties, if you hang it in the box he'll go for the header, etc, etc. he was a lethal player, he'd beat 2 or 3 defenders with one touch and turn, and then curl the ball into the bottom corner, splitting the keeper wide open. he had no fear for defenders or keepers, and could strike the fuck out of the ball from distance. he loved to cut in on the wing and curl it top bins, or simply just turn around and just swaz it in.

fernando was arguably the best striker in the world on his day, before his injuries changed him as a player. he was never the same afterwards, and even though his real peak was shortlived, it was iconic as hell. some players have long careers, and some have a short spark of a career.
